The Iowa Cubs stopped the Round Rock Express (Astros), 6-1 in a game that ended in the top of the sixth inning because of rain.
Because of the weather forecast, Craig Kimbrel started this game. Kimbrel faced four batters. The first batter flied out. He gave up a home run to the second batter and he walked the third one. Kimbrel struck out the final batter he faced and then exited after two-thirds of an inning, having thrown 14 pitches, eight for strikes. It’s also the first time he’s pitched in back-to-back games for the Cubs.
