Chicago Cubs Minor League Wrap: June 16

It’s another sweep the bad way tonight, thanks to some poor bullpens in the lower minors.

The Iowa Cubs were cloistered by the St. Paul Saints (Twins), 2-0.

Starter Matt Swarmer was the hard-luck loser tonight. Swarmer pitched well, allowing just one run on four hits over six innings. He struck out three and walked no one.

Shortstop Dee Strange-Gordon was 2 for 4 with a double.

Tennessee Smokies

The Tennessee Smokies were extinguished by the Chattanooga Lookouts (Reds), 3-0.

Ryan Kellogg threw the first four innings and allowed two runs on five hits.
