The Tennessee Smokies got burned by the Montgomery Biscuits (Rays), 6-1.
Thomas Hatch started and took the loss after allowing just two runs on six hits over six innings. Hatch did have trouble finding the strike zone as he walked five and struck out just two.
Second baseman Nico Hoerner was 1 for 4 with a double and one run scored.
Center fielder Connor Myers went 1 for 3 with a walk.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans were decoyed by the Down East Wood Ducks (Rangers), 3-1 in a game that ended after six innings because of rain.
