Mike Hauschild pitched well, but got stuck with the loss anyway after giving up the lead on a solo home run by Christin Stewart in the fifth inning. Hauschild pitched six innings and allowed two runs on two hits. He walked three and struck out three.
Tony Cingrani pitched a scoreless inning in his Cubs organization debut. He gave up no hits. He walked one batter, but picked him off of first. Cingrani struck out two.
DH Tyler Gushue hit a home run in the fifth inning, his sixth home run on the year.
