The Iowa Cubs lost to Indianapolis (Pirates), 8-5.
Joe Biagini was in line for the win after tossing seven innings and allowing just three runs on six hits. All three runs scored on a second inning home run. Biagini struck out six and walked one.
Juan Gámez relieved Biagini in the top of the eighth inning and things did not go well. Gámez allowed five runs on three hits, a walk and a hit batsman. One of those hits was a three-run home run. The only batter he retired was on a sacrifice fly.
