Congratulations to Eugene/South Bend’s Nelson Maldonado, who was your choice as the Cubs Minor League Player of the Month for July!
The Cubs announced their “official” Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month Awards (here’s where I mention that the BCB Award is a year older than their award) and their choices were AZL Cubs 1 second baseman Pedro Martinez and co-winners of South Bend’s Brailyn Marquez and Myrtle Beach’s Jack Patterson. I didn’t nominate Martinez because I don’t pick nominees from Mesa, although he did play three games in Eugene in July.
