By one measure, the Cubs just finished the worst offensive slump in baseball this season

Cubs fans are no strangers to watching their favorite team fail to come up with the clutch hit.

Even after the "Lovable Losers" label was shed years ago, the Cubs offense in recent memory still isn't very good in that particular area.

As Joe Maddon's team has racked up the most regular season wins in baseball since the start of the 2015 season, they can't hang their hat on timely hits.

The 2015 Cubs ranked 28th in baseball in batting average with runners in scoring position. The World Champion 2016 squad finished 21sth in the league in that category.
