While the Cubs’ minor league system lacks the bevy of elite talents that turned the major league team into World Series champions, the Cubs’ system still has plenty of interesting prospects, even if most of them aren’t name brands. Some of these prospects could help the Cubs in the next few years, while others could be included in trade packages as early as the next two months.
Now that the Cubs’ four primary minor league affiliates — Triple-A Iowa, Double-A Tennessee, High-A Myrtle Beach, and Low-A South Bend — have completed approximately one quarter of their respective seasons, let’s take a look at the first six weeks in the system.
