Adbert Alzolay fights command, exits with blister in Cubs’ 9-4 loss to the Padres

SAN DIEGO – It was a battle from the start for right-hander Adbert Alzolay as he took on the Padres on Monday. Alzolay struggled with his fastball command, missing his spot often. The Cubs’ right-hander has had great control this season, but was not able to find it as he walked a season-high five batters in the outing.

Alzolay got into a big jam in the first inning as the Padres loaded the bases against him in the first inning with nobody out, but was able to get out of it with minimal damage with the sole run coming on an RBI-groundout by Eric Hosmer.
