A number of Cubs icons - and some forgotten names - have brought home the coveted honor.
Heading into mid-October and with the Chicago Cubs done playing for the year, awards season will soon be upon us. One such end-of-year honor that's always fun to talk about is the Silver Slugger Award, given to one premier offensive player at each position in both the American and National Leagues. It used to include pitchers, but since 2022, when the designated hitter was universally adopted by the entire league, it includes a designated hitter for each league, bringing the number of awards to 20 per season (10 in each league).
