The stage appears to be set for Kyle Tucker to leave the Chicago Cubs this offseason. Even with his injuries and slump during the second half of the 2025 season, Tucker is positioned as the top free agent available this offseason. The Cubs likely will have conversations with Tucker's camp throughout the offseason, but if a $400MM payday is in his future, it certainly won't be as part of a return to Chicago.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are already lining up as a suitor for Tucker this offseason. As hard as it is to do, to be fair to the Dodgers, they do have a need in their outfield.
