If any part of you thinks the Cubs front office doesn’t understand this team and what is has to offer, then you have to appreciate the way the last couple of weeks have played out. It feels like a single solitary variable. Good start? If yes, then they win. I suppose Sunday’s game was the one exception. But even there, it provides the secondary theme. As trade season slowly gets started, the number one need for this team is more starting pitching. The number two need is the addition of right handed fire power.
The thing is that this team needs a high-end starting pitcher.
