Trading up in the draft is a bad idea for the Bulls

In Tuesday night’s draft lottery selection show, the Bulls learned that they will pick 14th in this year’s draft, which will be held on June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. That’s not high enough to select a potential franchise-altering talent, like Providence’s Kris Dunn.

The Chicago Tribune’s K.C. Johnson has reported that the Bulls may have interest in trading up to select Dunn. But that’s not a good plan.

The Bulls have traded up twice in John Paxson’s tenure in running the basketball operations department.
