Pete Myers resigns as Bulls assistant coach

A familiar face on the Chicago Bulls bench will no longer be with the team next season

Chicago Tribune’s K.C. Johnson reports that longtime assistant coach Pete Myers has resigned from his position with the team due to personal reasons. He has a newborn child and is stepping away from basketball to spend more time with family.

Myers’ nine-year NBA career included three seasons with the Chicago Bulls. Former Bulls General Manager Jerry Krause hired him in 2001 and he served as an assistant coach in the Windy City from 2001-2010 before working under Mark Jackson on the Golden State Warriors staff (2011-2014 .
