IT HAPPENED: Jimmy Butler Traded to Minnesota Timberwolves

This ends the short, but sweet, Jimmy Butler era in Bulls’ history. Butler, who was selected by the Bulls in 2011 NBA Draft at No. 30, he’ll rejoin the man who drafted him: Tom Thibodeau.

Heading to the Bulls will be the No. 5 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Kris Dunn, who averaged 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Joining Dunn will be Zach LaVine, who averaged 18.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 47 games for Minnesota. LaVine’s season ended in February, however, after he suffered a torn ACL.
