For the first time this season, the Bulls will play a basketball game without Zach LaVine.
Head Jim Boylen confirmed as much in pregame comments to assorted media ahead of the team's Monday night matchup with the Dallas Mavericks. LaVine fought through a sore left quad in the team's loss to the Knicks on Saturday, but an MRI revealed a strain the team felt was too much to play with.
"I know he's very disappointed, he had a goal to play all 82 (games)," Boylen said. "It's hard on him, so I know he'll come back when he can.
