Well look what we have here: these very same Toronto Raptors, who just beat the Bulls last night 113-104 in what was a very entertaining close game until the final few minutes where the Bulls offense took a collective dump.
With Zach LaVine out last night, the Raptors defense went after DeMarDeRozan to a higher degree than I think we’ve seen any team defense before. They were aggressively trapping DDR on the catch, daring him to move the ball and the rest of the Bulls to take the numbers advantage.
The gamble paid off for the Raptors: not only was DeRozan held to ‘just’ 20 points on 9 FGAs, nobody else on the team really punished them elsewhere, especially late in the game.
