Bulls backcourt puts on a show in win, as first half comes to a close

Arturas Karnisovas hopes his patience pays off.

The Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations knows that his starting backcourt – Coby White in particular – have some growing to do as a combination, but he’s banking that with Zach LaVine now a first-time All-Star, the duo could be a headache for years to come.

New Orleans had to break out the aspirin on Wednesday, as White and LaVine combined for 61 points, and helped the Bulls close out the first half of the season with the 128-124 win at the Smoothie King Center.

“Coby has played now 32 games at the point guard position,’’ Karnisovas said earlier this week, defending the strides both have made.
