Derrick Rose’s 2011 MVP campaign was remarkable for so many reasons, but the fact that he was the youngest award winner ever might be the best part.
And it wasn’t even close. Rose, at 22 years and 5 months old, was far younger than Wes Unseld, Bob McAdoo and Wilt Chamberlain (all 23 years old).
Rose was younger than them all when he earned his MVP, averaging 25.0 points, 7.7 assists and leading the Bulls to the top seed in the East and a 62-win season.
It’s probably the most memorable non-Jordan season in Bulls franchise history.
