Reports: Blackhawks acquire Adam Gaudette from Canucks for Matthew Highmore

The Blackhawks kicked off Monday’s trade deadline activity by sending forward Matthew Highmore to the Canucks in exchange for center Adam Gaudette, according to a slew of media reports.

Gaudette, 24, is currently on a one-year contract worth $950,000 and will be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2021 season.

Gaudette was a fifth-round pick (149th overall) of the Canucks in the 2015 NHL Draft and debuted during the ‘17-18 season. His best season came in ‘19-20, when Gaudette played in 59 games while notching 12 goals and 21 assists. Gaudette went without a point in 10 postseason games, though.
