Report: Blackhawks' Joel Quenneville to be assistant coach for Team Canada at 2016 World Cup of Hockey

The three-time Stanley Cup-winning coach will be behind Canada's bench in an assistant role.

Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville will be an assistant coach for Team Canada at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, reports TSN's Darren Dreger.

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock will serve as Team Canada's head coach, while Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien will join Quenneville in an assistant role.

Team Canada's General Manger Doug Armstrong has yet to make the announcement official.

The 2016 World Cup of Hockey, which hasn't been held since 2004, is scheduled to take place from Sept.
