Mark Kelley, the man behind the Blackhawks’ draft picks

Mark Kelley always asked his father Jack questions that were more inquisitive about hockey than his two brothers.

Jack’s other sons, David and Paul, also liked hockey, but there was something different with Kelley. He just wanted to know more.

Jack was the perfect person to ask such questions to, too. He wasn’t a father who pulled out a hockey jersey from the closet and pretended to know the game. Jack knew a whole lot about hockey. He coached national championship teams at Boston University, spent time as the Hartford Whalers general manager and the Pittsburgh Penguins president.
