Kimmo Timonen reflects on winning the Stanley Cup a year later

Kimmo Timonen’s life changed when he was handed the Stanley Cup by Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews on June 15, 2015.

A year later, I caught up with Timonen on while he was traveling through Europe and discussed how retirement has been treating him, what he’s been up to and how winning the Stanley Cup last year has impacted his life.

Scott Powers: It’s the one year anniversary of winning the Stanley Cup. What do you remember about that day?

Kimmo Timonen: To be honest, I think it was one of the best days in my life, at least in hockey life.
