NHL commissioner Gary Bettman gave specific details for the salary cap for the upcoming 2018-19 season Wednesday.
And it’s good news for the Chicago Blackhawks: the salary cap range will between $79.5 and $80 million, according to Bettman, a significant increase over the $75 million cap for the 2017-18 season. The number, however, still needs to be finalized by the NHL Players’ Association.
The Blackhawks currently have $70.274 million — with salary cap overage from this past season’s team performance bonuses — committed to nine forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders, according to CapFriendly.
