Former Blackhawks goalie Scott Darling details leaving Europe as coronavirus spread

Former Blackhawks goalie and 2015 Stanley Cup champion Scott Darling, now with HC Tiroler Wasserkraft Innsbruck of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (or the Austrian Hockey League), was playing in Austria as coronavirus began spreading in Europe.

Darling and his teammates play in Innsbruck, Austria, 20 minutes away from the border of Italy, which has been hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak.

The Lemont, Illinois native's team was eliminated from playoff contention and he was able to head back to the United States before the travel ban went into place.

"Shortly after I left they canceled the whole league and things got pretty serious there," Darling told NBC Sports Chicago's David Kaplan during Friday's Sports Talk Live.
