Despite carrying a lead into the final period of the game, the Chicago Blackhawks fell to the Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday night. It was the first time this season that Chicago would surrender a third period lead in regulation (now 15-1-3 when leading through two periods). The loss completed a winless road trip for the Hawks, and is their seventh in a row.
After a horrible night in Arizona, the Blackhawks (24-25-8) started tonight’s game on a rather high note by scoring the first goal of the game. Tommy Wingels found the back of the net during a Chicago power play in the opening two minutes of the game, and the Hawks were up 1-0 early.
