Dylan Sikura has developed into an elite Blackhawks prospect

BOSTON – Dylan Sikura could have been teammates with Connor McDavid, Dylan Strome and Alex DeBrincat on the OHL’s Erie Otters.

The Otters selected Sikura, an Aurora, Ontario native, in the 14th round as the 266th overall pick of the 2011 OHL priority selection draft. Sikura considered that option, but decided college was best and committed to Northeastern University.

Sikura can’t help but think of what could have been if his offensive talent had been combined with three of the most skilled OHL players in recent history. But what Sikura has to remind himself is what he is today as a player – tied for fourth in the NCAA in points and one of the Chicago Blackhawks' most promising prospects – isn’t likely what he would have been with the Otters.
