John Hynes will coach Team USA at the 2016 World Championships, USA Hockey announced Friday.
Russia will host the tournament in Moscow and Saint Petersburg from May 6 through May 22. He will also serve as an assistant coach for Team USA at the World Cup of Hockey in September, which will be held from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
John Tortorella will be Team USA's head coach at the World Cup of Hockey. Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane was among 16 players listed on Team USA's initial roster for the tournament.
