The Brendan Perlini trade rumors started this offseason, prior to Perlini signing a one year, $874,125 extension with the Chicago Blackhawks. Perlini played just one game with the Blackhawks this season and it was made apparent that he was not going to see any more ice time.
When speaking to the press last week, Perlini admitted that he asked the Blackhawks to trade him, and the Blackhawks obliged. Stan Bowman added yet another change of scenery trade to his resume.
In today’s trade, the Chicago Blackhawks obtained the rights to Alec Regula, a 19-year-old defenseman prospect currently playing with the London Knights of the OHL.
