It’s difficult to look at the current situation the Chicago Blackhawks‘ defense is in and not worry about what the future is going to look like.
Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook – guys who were once two of the best defensemen in the league – have severely regressed in the last few years. Stan Bowman traded away Niklas Hjalmarsson and Michal Kempny then signed Brandon Manning, who they recently traded away after benching him for two weeks. Overall, the Blackhawks have a logjam of mediocre defensemen that aren’t providing the team with much hope.
