Although Blackhawks’ GM Stan Bowman remained adamant on sticking with the ‘Hawks’ current squad, it didn’t mean he wasn’t willing to shed a later draft pick. Acquiring the young forward Tomas Jurco is certainly not a game changer by any means, but the addition of some proven depth never hurts. The trade is being closely compared to the likes of the Richard Panik trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and we all know how that low-risk move has played out.
