Calvin de Haan, Connor Murphy return to skating for Blackhawks

Defensemen Calvin de Haan and Connor Murphy returned to the ice Tuesday for the Blackhawks after missing the majority of training camp, but when they’ll join the team for practice is unknown.

“Great to have Murph and de Haan back on the ice,” coach Jeremy Colliton said Tuesday. “We’ll get them going as quick as we can. When they join the full group, I don’t know.”

De Haan skated by himself on the second practice rink at Fifth Third Arena, while the team performed drills and competed in a scrimmage.

The 29-year-old participated in the first day of training camp, which opened July 13, then left for a family emergency and missed five days of practice.
