Blackhawks: Tyler Motte named top-10 finalist for Hobey Baker Award

Blackhawks prospect Tyler Motte has been named a top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, annually given to the best NCAA hockey player.

Motte, a fourth-round pick by the Blackhawks in 2013, has 50 points (29 goals and 21 assists) in 34 games this season with Michigan. His 29 goals ranks second in the nation while his 1.47 points-per-game average is third-best among all Division I players.

The junior forward is one of three Michigan players — along with Kyle Connor (61 points) and J.T. Compher (52) — to rank inside the top-five in the country with 50 points.
