Blackhawks sign Cam Morrison to 2-year, $1.85 million contract

The Blackhawks signed unrestricted free agent left wing Cam Morrison to a two-year, $1.85 million entry-level contract Tuesday.

Morrison became an UFA on Aug. 15 when he did not to sign with the Avalanche, who selected him in the second round (No. 40) in the 2016 NHL Draft. He scored career highs in goals (13), assists (14) and points (27) in 37 games during his senior season at Notre Dame.

Morrison earned the nickname “Big Game Cam” for his ability to deliver in clutch situations. He scored the game-winning goal in the 2018 and 2019 Big Ten tournament championship game and was named to the all-tournament team both times, and had another game-winner in the first round of the 2019 NCAA tournament.
