Joakim Nordstrom is going to get his shot at a full-time spot on the Chicago Blackhawks roster.
The Blackhawks re-signed Nordstrom to a one-year contract Wednesday, the team announced.
Nordstrom, 23, played in 54 regular-season and 10 playoff games during the last two seasons. He's mostly played at left wing on the fourth line and can be a factor on the penalty kill. The Swede has shown offensive ability in the American Hockey League -- 16 points in 23 games with the Rockford IceHogs last season -- but he has tallied just one goal and five assists in the NHL.
