Blackhawks prospects Alexis Gravel and Jake Ryczek and the Halifax Mooseheads defeated Nicolas Beaudin and the Drummondville Voltigeurs 2-1 in overtime in Game 6 of a QMJHL semifinal series Sunday to advance to the President’s Cup Final.
The Mooseheads will play the top-seeded Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the final. The Huskies last won the QMJHL in 2016, while Halifax’s last victory came in 2013 when they also took home the Memorial Cup.
Gravel, a 2018 sixth-round pick, is 12-4 with a 2.62 goals-against average and .918 save percentage in the playoffs.
