Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane out with illness vs. Canucks

Related Topics: Alex Petrovic, Patrick Kane

Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane will not play in Wednesday’s game against the Canucks due to an illness, the team announced less than hour to puck drop.

Kane also did not participate in the team’s morning skate Wednesday in Vancouver.

It’s the first time Kane will miss action since the 2014-15 season, when he broke his left clavicle after he was cross-checked into the boards by Panthers’ Alex Petrovic. Kane missed 21 games that season, but was ready for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Kane is off to the hottest start of his career with at least a point in 11 of 12 games this season, and is currently on a six-game point streak.
