SportsNet senior columnist Mark Spector reported that the Edmonton Oilers are discussing a trade with the Blackhawks that would involve sending Brandon Manning to the Oilers, with Edmonton forward Drake Caggiula reported as another piece of the possible transaction.
Manning, 28, has appeared in only 27 of the Blackhawks’ 41 games this season, often as the result of a healthy scratch. He has just one goal and two assists in those games and has not played since appearing in just 13:20 of Chicago’s Dec. 12 game against the Penguins.
