The biggest piece of news for the Blackhawks at the NHL draft was not who they drafted; it was who they traded for.
The Blackhawks sent Adam Boqvist, two first-round draft picks, and a second-round draft pick to Columbus for Seth Jones, a first-round draft pick, and a sixth-round draft pick next season. The price was high, but it is now all over.
Columbus is in rebuilding mode, they have lost countless stars to free agency in the past, and if they waited for the middle of the season they were not going to get this much for Seth Jones.
