After months of speculation, the list of players who will be protected for the upcoming expansion draft to the Vegas Golden Knights was officially released on Sunday.
The Blackhawks’ list came with no surprises.
As expected, the Blackhawks decided to protect seven forwards, three defensemen and one goalie. The list included forwards Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Artem Anisimov, Ryan Hartman, Rickard Panik and Tomas Jurco, defensemen Duncan Keith, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Brent Seabrook and goalie Corey Crawford.
The Blackhawks had to protect Kane, Toews, Hossa, Anisimov, Keith, Hjalmarsson, Seabrook and Crawford because they have no-movement clauses.
