Blackhawks drop 8th straight game with 3-2 overtime loss to Hurricanes

The Blackhawks’ losing streak grows to eight games with a 3-2 overtime road loss to the Hurricanes on Monday night at PNC Arena.

Jeremy Colliton is now the first Blackhawks head coach since Bob Pulford in 1985 to drop his first three games behind the bench.

Chicago’s night started on a high note, when Jonathan Toews re-directed a Henri Jokiharju shot past Scott Darling for an early 1-0 lead midway through the first period. What Chicago was able to produce offensively in time of possession is what kept the surging Carolina offense at bay, as the both teams closed the opening period with 11 shots.
