PHILADELPHIA – Michal Neuvirth was stellar in stopping all 30 shots he faced and Sam Gagner scored a power-play goal as the Philadelphia Flyers blanked the Blackhawks 3-0 on Wednesday night.
The Flyers honored former defenseman Kimmo Timonen, who won a Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in June, prior to the game. The Blackhawks, who haven’t won a regular-season game in Philadelphia since Nov. 9, 1996, didn’t look too good through the first two periods of this one. After committing just four penalties in their first three games, they committed six on Wednesday.

Gagner’s goal, which put the Flyers up 1-0 about five minutes into the second period, was his first in a Philadelphia uniform.
