Blackhawks agree to two-year deal with Viktor Svedberg

The Blackhawks announced Monday that they have agreed to a two-year contract extension with defenseman Viktor Svedberg, which runs through the end of the 2017-18 season.

The financial details are unknown at this time along with whether it's a one-way or two-way deal. He currently carries a $575,000 cap hit on the final year of his deal.

Svedberg, 24, has appeared in 19 regular-season games with the Blackhawks this season, potting two goals and two assists.

The Swedish native has one goal and 13 assists in 36 games this season with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
