Blackhawks agree to terms with Johansson, Kempny and Lundberg

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with goaltender Lars Johansson, defenseman Michal (MY-kuhl) Kempny and forward Martin Lundberg on one-year contracts.

Kempny, 25, registered 21 points (5G, 16A) through 59 games in his first season with the Kontinental Hockey League’s Avangard Omsk. The Hodonin, Czech Republic, native added four points (2G, 2A) in 11 postseason games. Kempny has previously collected 73 points (26G, 47A) through 252 games across seven seasons (2008-15) with the Czech Extraliga’s HC Kometa Brno and HC Slavia Praha.

He tallied two assists in eight games with the Czech Republic at the 2016 World Championship.
