Agent: 10 percent chance Maxim Shalunov signs with Blackhawks now

Don’t hold your breath for Maxim Shalunov to sign with the Chicago Blackhawks soon.

There’s only a 10 percent chance Shalunov signs with the Blackhawks for next season, according to his agent Shumi Babaev on Friday.

The Blackhawks drafted Shalunov, a 24-year-old forward, in the fourth round in 2011 and have retained his rights while he’s played in the KHL the past three seasons. He has 19 goals and 17 assists in 48 games this season.

Shalunov’s contract with his KHL team, Sibir Novosibirsk, expires after this season. Babaev said Shalunov will not re-sign with Sibir Novosibirsk.
