Well... Not exactly, but it is kind of what happened.
The Chicago Bears are sitting out day one of the 2019 NFL Draft because last September they sent a package of draft picks to the Oakland Raiders for All-Pro pass rusher Khalil Mack.
Here’s what Bears’ general manager Ryan Pace agreed to send to Oakland.
A first-round draft pick in 2019 and 2020, a third-round pick in 2020, and a 2019 sixth-round pick.
In return for those four selections, the Bears got Mack, who is one of the best players of this generation, a 2020 second-round round draft pick, which looks to be in the top half of the round, and a conditional 2020 fifth-round draft pick.
