The Bears’ Nick Foles era could not have gotten to a worse start. For 60 minutes last Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts gave Chicago its first thorough beating of the 2020 season. No matter what the Bears tried, no matter what belief they may have had in themselves, the Colts had an answer. What new promise a new quarterback might have given the Bears on the whole was extinguished by a dynamic Indianapolis front seven. What proficiency a very good Bears’ defense possesses was unfortunately made irrelevant by a slow choke hold provided by the Colts’ control of the trenches.
