Why former NC A&T teammate Brandon Parker knew Tarik Cohen would be an instant sensation in Chicago

MOBILE, Ala. — Offensive lineman Brandon Parker weighed in at 6-foot-7, 303 pounds at the Senior Bowl, precisely 13 inches taller and 122 pounds heavier than his former teammate at North Carolina A&T, Tarik Cohen.

But Parker, who blocked for Cohen for collegiate three years, offered this thought about the explosive Bears running back.

“I mean, he probably could play my position if he wanted to,” Parker said. “It’d be weird seeing a 5-foot-6 tackle, but he has the heart to do it.”

All the things that made Cohen such a hit in his first year in Chicago — his natural talent, football instincts, love of the game and boisterous personality — hardly were a surprise to Parker, who earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl this week in Alabama.
