It did not dawn on me that the season would go on until the moment the Bears reported for training camp. Even then, seeing Thursday’s actual NFL game had to jar me back to “Oh, right, football.”
Yet, here we are. Mitchell Trubisky took the reins of the starting job as he heads into his fourth season. Nick Foles, the guy the Bears traded a fourth-round pick to and signed an extension with, is the backup. Robert Quinn, prized free agent acquisition, is listed as doubtful.
