Upstart WR Chris Lacy earns offseason roster spot after strong tryout: source

In addition to their rookies, the Bears had 25-year-old wide receiver Chris Lacy at minicamp on a tryout basis. He did well enough to earn a spot, and the Bears will sign him in advance of Organized Team Activities, a source said.

That means he will get a continued opportunity in OTAs, which are scheduled to start May 25, to prove he deserves a shot in training camp.

Lacy (6-foot-3, 206 pounds) went undrafted out of Oklahoma State in 2018 and has bounced among the Patriots, Lions and Cowboys.

In eight career games with the Lions over the 2018 and ’19 seasons, he caught three passes for 60 yards.
